Book Of Stories About Modes Of Transport

When I was young I remember reading a book which was a collection of stories about different modes of transport.

I was trying to remember the title, I would say it was writted 1970s to early 1980s. It was mostly prose with just 1 or 2 pictures per story.

The main character was a taxi, & I also remember a lorry who got stuck on a bridge, & a motor mower who liked to mow other people's lawns.

If anyone had any idea what I'm talking about please let me know.

I would say it was aimed at the 7-10 range.

It certainly wasn't a Richard Scarry book, it was mostly text with just a picture every few pages.
