Re: Hair styles you've had???
Used to have a short back n sides at school. Remember a mobile hairdresser my mum used to have coming around in 84 when i was 16. I showed her the video to The Reflex by Duran Duran, pointed to Simon Le Bon and said "I want that one". Apart from the highlights, it looked nothing like it. It became too high maintenance with wet look gel (stu stu studioline) after that so had a flat top (inspired by Dolph Lundgren in Rocky IV). Kept it short then until the curtain hairstyle in 94. Again, too high maintenance. Bought some clippers not long after and did myself a number 2. Forgot to replace the guard one day after cleaning and ended up with a number 0. Have kept it that way since although haven't got much choice in the matter these days.

Re: Hair styles you've had???
I remember going to the hairdresses to have my shoulder length hair cut short, i told the girl i just want a plain cut, took in at the back, off the ears, and a little hight on top, she did as i asked, well at least she did, until she started to put all this jel stuff on and made my hair all spikey, i did,nt have the heart to tell her i did,nt like it so i just payed her and left the shop, but as i was walking home i could see my reflection in the shop windows i just wanted to get home fast so i could wash it all out, after it had dryed i finley had the style i wanted.
I have also had an Afro perm
the purdy cut
And the pageboy.Last edited by Shirl; 15-02-2009, 16:40.

Re: Hair styles you've had???
I remember the seven-seven hair style and spiral but haven't tried it yet though since I was a kid! But I remember some of those ladies having their hairstyle like that before!

Hairstyles
Hi
Was it fashionable for men to have fairly long hair in 1978 and 79?

Re: Hair styles you've had???
omg over the years i've had loads
in the 80's i remember having a bleached tail (what was that all about lol)
also had the long fringe over 1 eye,
also had green spikey,(back combed)
bleached blonde (when i was 14-15)
permed
a flat top,
then had chemo lost it all so had a couple of wigs, long wavy1 and short one (warning if you wear a wig dont open the oven door with it on i singed all the front of mine lol) so gave up and wore a hat but everyone was wearing them at the time (91-92)
then when i was having chemo the 2nd time drs said hair would go thin so decided to get another perm so it looked thicker but lost it all (was going to go back to the haidressers and say look what you've done but didnt lol)
then i had the step as cos with the radiotherapy the bottom half of my hair was shorter so had it cut with a step lol
now well its starting to get quite a bit of grey but at least i've got hair lol
oh forgot had a bob in there somewhere when i went through my mod phase

Re: Hair styles you've had???
I remember using Sun-In when I was about 13 in an attempt to do some highlights on myself - my hair came out the colour of the background on this forum! It was dreadful!
They still sell Sun-In - I think it shoudl be banned. Its a danger to teenage girls everywhere! lol
