Hello,
I remember this as my earliest notion of 'collecting'. It must have been 1975-ish.
In each circular box of six Dairylea triangles, there was a card to collect. My parents sent off for a poster that, if I remember correctly, was a large watercolour illustration of Disneyland. There were white blank triangles where you had to 'gum' or stick the collected cards and they then finished your poster. I seem to remember the odd buildings mostly (the globe-like Epcot Centre?), and don't really remember it being peppered with Disney characters. I'm sure it was Disneyland. Would it have been some other theme-park/area of the early 70s?
I don't know if there was a competition tied in with it. I just remember the earliest excitement of getting these cards.
I'd love to see that poster again. Anyone got it? Anyone point me to a link showing it?
Now I fancy a Dairylea triangle spread onto toast.
...James
