  • Lyons Chocolate cupcakes are back!

They made these cakes in the 80s and we always had them when we had lunch with my aunt. They had gorgeous glossy chocolate icing. They were discontinued for over a decade I think, but I found them last week when I was food shopping My son was bewildered at how excited I was! The brilliant thing is that they taste almost the same to my tired old tastebuds, and they don't have metallic cases anymore which used to set my teeth on edge. I'm going to stock up in case they disappear again. The modern alternatives have nothing on these

Lyons Chocolate cupcakes have GONE again!!

Well i would like to add that yes they seem to have disappeared AGAIN. I too was brought up on these as a weekly treat, and too my children. We are all 'fed up' as we can no longer buy these. Morrisons and some (not all) Asda shops sold them for a while during the last 2 years. Now nothing. I fail to understand why 'Fabulous Baking Boys' cup cakes (which are not patch on Lyons) are everywhere. Often i found Lyons cup cakes were sold out, so obviously sold well. I am at a loss here!

I used to love these. I also liked the mix box they did with lemon and orange ones in too. I don't like the Baking boys ones, they taste really fake. I wish I could get the Lyons ones again : (

what i do not get is why they are not so widely available as they are gorgeous.
