Going back as far as the late 70s and through the 80s, the Morrisons Supermarket near where I live had a LifeStyle section. It sold white goods like washing machines and TVs as well as stationary, but also sold toys and had a very good music selection - mainly LP and single records. Then into the 80s, it sold computer games. It was only down the road from where I lived so I would go there after school sometimes. I bough my first LP record there and also bought lots of computer games too.

I recall supermarkets with seperate departments well, with Fridges/Freezers etc. For years we had a Co-op in Town which then became Pioneer until it sadly closed and a brand new Morrisons opend near by in a matter of weeks near by. Granted I found the Co-op's prices quite dear but I can recall fondly looking at all the other departments it had as i was growing up, which was intriguing in any way I found regards Toy's, Fridges/Freezers/TV and then CD's etc as I got older. Sadly though the departments became all mixed up in differing parts of the store but when it was in it's final day's it became highly interesting a location to find bargains which i'll always recall as very differing in such a way.

yea a supermarket we had called stewarts back in the eighties early nineties which is now a mcdonalds had a separate dept for cheese and then for meat etc.
