I remember at school people always said "Chinny Winston" whilst doing it, for no obvious reason.

We've all laughed at stuff we shouldn't have. I once laughed at someone I went to school with who lost her boyfriend in a car accident on Christmas day. I remember thinking "Man, she looks upset, this is going to be a terrible conversation!" then as soon as see mentioned the news a synapse in my brain fired and I burst out laughing. The more I tried to stop it the louder I laughed. It was a bit like when you are sat on a crowded bus or something and you remember something that is funny, the more you try to stifle it because you know it's inappropriate.

I'm not a bad person, honest.

A few i remember were these:

          Snitch - tell tale

Nark - a very sinister tell tale

          Nonce - pervert

          Jerkoff- Jerk

          Plank - stupid

          Crank - wierdo

          Smartass - cocky replier

          Fruit - gay wimp

Gay - Just so hard kids could punch someone

          Homo - suspected gay person.

Another phase, which i suspect still goes on,is to call someone by somebody's name in a deriding and derogatory way, like:

          1: You Dick!

          2: You're an absolute Percy!

          3: You're a complete Dean!

          4: You're a real Jasper,do you know that?

5: You can be a complete George sometimes.

Bamp and flid are two that have been mentioned here that I remember from school. bamp was used for a tarty lass, a bit like tramp, but tramp was reserved for poor kids with the wrong uniform/ old clothes/ looked a bit scruffy. I have no idea what flid meant. Another was Tefal, used for anybody brainy or with a big forehead (coming from the Tefal adverts with the big headed boffins).

In primary school we had a bizarre thing where we would form a fist, rub it round the bottom of our chin and say spooner when proving someone wrong about something. "You said the kit kats were 10p but they're not, they're 8p and my mam just got me two so SPOONER!"

Flid was quite nasty, quite like spacker, for someone who was clumsy. useless at things etc.

I think flid derived from Thalidomide.
