In the 50s and 60s, there was quite a craze for novelty records about monsters, creatures from outer space, vampires and ghosts.
    To mark Hallowe'en,
Martin Kelner takes a lighthearted look at some of these comic-horror discs. Music includes songs by Bobby
"Boris" Pickett, Screaming Lord Sutch and Stan
Freberg, as well as offerings from less well-known artists.

"I didn't want to be in a white rock band, I didn't want to be in a black rock band, I wanted to be in a black blues band."
So says Eric Clapton in this special documentary. Eric spent the first half of 1994 recording live sessions for a new all-blues album, From the Cradle. Once the recordings were finished, Eric talked about the project in an interview with John Pigeon. As well as tracks from From the Cradle, the programme includes such milestones from his career as "Ramblin' on My Mind" from John Mayall 's Blue Breakers, Cream's
"Crossroads" and Derek and the Dominos' "Have
    You Ever Loved a Woman?".

Hosted tonight by Ricky Van Shelton, who made a triumphant UK debut last month. One of the artists who lifted country music out of the doldrums of the early 80s, Ricky first entered the top ten in 1987, since when he has revisited the charts 17 times. Tonight, as well as choosing tracks by his favourite stars, he includes some of his own hits and a couple from his new album Love and Honour. Ricky also includes the second part of a bluegrass concert recorded in London last month by Alison Krauss.

Domestic violence happens to women of all ages and races, from all walks of life and from every social class. In the last year, as many as one in ten women were victims of domestic violence. On average a woman will have been attacked 35 times before she reports domestic violence to anyone. So why do women put up with it? Should the law be tougher and should there be more help available?
