It's really a very simple sound: tune in the middle, harmony above, harmony below. There were groups that sang with more finesse, groups that had sharper and more enterprising arrangements. But there's no denying one simple fact: the 1940s just wouldn't have been the 1940s without the Andrews Sisters."
