my first car was a vauxhall astra 1989 - white 2 door 1.3 class........the heating didint work, it used 2 freez up on the inside, the starter motor connection was loose so it used 2 cut out at lights the odd time!! oh such fun........ppl dont have first cars like that these days........shame really
My last car, in its last days, used to cut out if stopped at all - and I have to take three right turns on the first half-mile of my trip to work, when the engine is at its coldest....
mine was a ford fiesta 1988 i had same problems with window freezing up on the inside, i know what you mean people have brand new first cars these days
No man is worth your tears - and the one who is wont make you cry!
don't laugh but when i passed my test back in 88, i had a 1979 old banger called a vauxhall viva, remember them? so uncool but i didn't care! Used to pootle about in it quite happlily, it used to really rattle if I tried to go over 50 in it. On my way back from a day out in blackpool with my sister back in 89 I decided it would be fun to race a guy down the m6, probably not the wisest move, but i'm still alive!
my first car was a red F reg Orion 1.4 she cost me £250. she went really well and only ever let me down twice.she had plenty of poke! she`s gone now to the great scrapyard in the sky, sob.
A navy blue Ford Fiesta held together with rust and much loved... then the headlights fell off and the rest seemed to follow. I got £10 scrap for it though!
If eight out of ten cats prefer whiskas, do the other two shave or wax?
My dad's old VW Polo. Gold in colour, he gave it to me as my first car. Pretty embarrassing as my dad had a thing for getting old brass ornaments and gluing them to the bonnet (Rolls Royce style). So, I started college in a Polo with a brass aeroplane stuck on the bonnet. Needless to say, I parked quite a way down the road.
My first car was a brown mini clubman. It would have been extremely cool except for the colour. I always wanted one ever since I saw the Italian Job on the TV as a nipper. I wanted to paint it either red, white or blue, but my parents sold it when I went to university to pay for a Citroen 2CV for me as I mentioned once in passing that I thought they looked cute and quirky. I never really forgave them for that little indiscretion. How much cooler is a mini to a 2CV? I ask you!
I may be showing my age here, but my first car was a Ford cortina mk 2 reg no MRH 383F. (1968)
It was blue mink metallic , 1300cc and had a "pudding stirrer" gear stick.
I can remember fitting a long 'whip' radio aerial and a cassette player. (note not a radio/cassette!)
Unless my my memory is playing tricks, at the time it was a real passion wagon!
