Can anyone remember Petrol Rationing Books being issued out to people in the 70,s my husband was issued with two at the time, but thankfully he never did have to use them, and he still have those books today.

My Dad remembers getting a book of petrol coupons but never had to use them.
I don't know if he kept them for long, we had an old shoe box around for years with lots of old Green Shield & Co-op 5 & 40 stamp books in it. The might have been in there, but it was chucked out years ago.The Trickster On The Roof -

Yes I do remember there were petrol rationing coupons in the early 70s, I think, but they were never used in the end.sigpic

Yeah, they were tough times - caused by the Arab-Israeli conflict,people reckon, which in turn was patrly to blame for the recession of the 70's&80s.
I can still see all those Morris Minors, MKI Escorts, etc. queued at the forecourts. Showing me age I am.Comment
