Lord of the Rings Posters (1970s)

Hi, I am having no luck tracing a set of Lord of the Rings posters I once saw. It was in the early seventies and I particularly remember brilliant ones of Treebeard and Gandalf. The person they belonged to, if my memory serves me correctly, said they'd come from a newspaper offer. I've tried Amazon, eBay, lots of LOTR forums and of course google images. The same ones keep cropping up but not the ones I'm looking for.
Anyone know what I'm talking about or was it all a jos stick inspired dream LOL!

No, Paulos, this was early/mid seventies. The images just really captured what I had imagined the characters would look like myself.

Loads of people over the years have tried to put into picture their vision of TLOTR. All I can say really is try here, scroll down to the bottom to see various different artists.
It may be that you saw a poster taken from the illustrated version of the book.

Other than that maybe try an actual LOTR forum there must be loads of fans who can help there.

i have this on video the old thor nemi video.
this poster is identical to the front of the sleeve on the old video.
