Dead at age 95 ... not a bad innings ... usually played the baddy ... and forever immortalised by John Cooper Clarke in 'Thirty Six Hours'.

I remember him from tonnes of stuff - Mr Rogo in The Poseidon Adventure, Ragnar in The Vikings, Major General Worden, Harry Booth in The Black Hole and Air Wolf as Dominic Santini, to name but a few...not one of my favourite actors but not dislikable either.

I actually thought he had died long ago before i heard this news.

He must have been in his sixties when he starred in the poseidon adventure.

Sorry to hear of his passing, but 95 was a good innings. I suppose Kirk Douglas can't be far behind him. I remember reading in a film magazine that although Ernest played Kirk's dad in The Vikings, he was actually younger than Kirk. Ernest Borgnine was also good in Jubal and Ice Station Zebra.
