Hear Hear to all of the above- he was a terrific gift to the world, a really kind man and very funny too. I once saw him jogging past a 'phone box I was in at Stoke Mandeville back in the April of '86- he didn't see me, and I didn't like to hail him in case I threw him off his pace.
I once wrote to 'Jim'll Fix It' when I was 7 asking to go and see the ruins of Pompeii- nothing doing on that occasion, though at least I didn't get a 'Toot' from that horn, which I always thought was very poor compensation!
By the way, how DID Jim manage to fix it for so many people??!!
i rememmber the time on jim'll fix it when those kids ask jim to fix it for them to eat and drink on a roller coaster....classic kids telly!....JIM....YOU FIXED IT FOR ME..just being part of my childhood..thank you and god bless.
