A very very funny author, who took the art of (often extremely rude) farce to new levels. I recall laughing out loud on the tube whilst reading the original Wilt novel and getting a few strange looks. The Wilt series, The Throwback, Indecent Exposure, Riotous Assembly, Porterhouse Blue, Blott on the Landscape were all comedy masterpieces.
