Didn't he appear in the "I have got all the notes right, but not necessarily in the right order" Morecambe and Wise sketch?
One thing that British viewers will remember Previn for.
I've everything I need to keep me satisfied
There's nothing you can do to make me change my mind
I'm having so much fun
My lucky number's one
Ah! Oh! Ah! Oh!
I'm too young to remember but I heard he appeared on adverts for Ferguson video records & the TX range of televisions.
That is what I remember, from the mid-1980s. 'Ferguson TX . . . the best picture of all time, the best sound all round.' Did not stop them from going under though!

The TX series of sets was a brave attempt to compete with the Japanese brands, but by the end of the 1980s Thorn EMI had sold off their electronics division.

Ferguson was sold to Thomson in 1987 (for a pittance apparently) and the brand quickly became a shadow of its former self. UK manufacturing was run down and ceased completely in 1992. A shame really as they were decent TVs at a fair price but ultimately could not compete with the Japanese.
