Dick Dale, the king of the surfing guitar sound and a true pioneer of the Fender Stratocaster has died aged 81.
His unique sound - playing rather like a mandolin or bazooki and often riffing on just one string, is best known for "Misirlou" a traditional Greek folk tune, which Tarentino chose to be the iconic opening theme for Pulp Fiction.
