  • RIP Terry Jones of Monty Python fame

Monty Python comedy actor Terry Jones has died aged 77 from complications of dementia.

To a generation, he was possibly one of the funniest people to be seen on British television, appearing in one of the funniest television series in Great Britain. I suppose in a way that as he was born in Wales, Jones probably was to Monty Python what Sir Harry Secombe was to the Goons. Some classic sketches were made thanks to his talent in comedy. It is a pity that I was a generation too late from when it was originally seen on television.

Former co-stars Sir Michael Palin, John Cleese and Eric Idle have paid tribute to Jones.

In his demise, I suppose that he would have wanted us all to always look on the bright side of life.

Cult viewing in the 70s Monty python broke the mould in comedy....hilarious in it's day but not so much now as so many more "alternative" comedy shows have broken down barriers
    Ejector seat?...your jokin!

Sad news, I remember getting into Monty Python in a big way 30 years ago when the Flying Circus was being repeated.

I have a feeling that one of the channels will show Life of Brian as a tribute if they haven't done so already.

So dreadfully sad. I wrote him a fan letter 30 years ago, and he sent me a signed photo. And I was lucky enough to meet him at a couple of events, and he was the sweetest man.

RIP Terry. A light went out the day you died.
