OK, so his numerous novels weren't the greatest works of literature, but they were, invariably, rattling good escapist adventures.

I lost track of how many of Cussler's ripping yarns I've read over the decades.

Weird how he put himself in his books as a minor character (at least in the ones I read) - bit like Hitchcock in his films I guess.
