Really sad news. I like so many of his records!

It's Gonna Be Alright pops into my head sometimes.

Gerry was a great Singer indeed, I loved Ferry Across The Mersey and You'll Never Walk Alone, which so speaks of everything every Football Fan associates with Liverpol FC and to a lesser degree Celtic from Glasgow too

      RIP Gerry Marsden

One legacy that Marsden will be remembered for would be re-releasing the version of Ferry Cross the Mersey in aid of the Hillsborough disaster fund which helped to smooth relationships between Liverpool and Nottingham and hopefully gained a lot of friendships in the process - back in 1989 things were obviously difficult after what had happened, and so I believe that the song helped back then.
Telling it almost exactly like it was so many years later - and proud of doing so!

That's a good memory that came from a bad thing. Gerry was a class act!
