I often confuse his name with Casey Jones, but he has left such a legacy when it came to familar music. He worked with Sinatra, Michael Jackson, Count Basie, to name but a few.

I was listening to the tributes on Radio 5 Live on Monday, and I was surprised to hear that Lesley Gore of "It's My Party" fame was described as someone that "hardly anyone had heard of" - I certainly heard of her because of that song which Dave Stewart and Barbara Gaskin took to number one in 1981. I suppose it was because of Jones that we "were" familiar with those songs originally.

His middle name was Delight - literally. He was a Delight to all of us!
