  • RIP Ozzy Osbourne

True character and metal legend, so glad he got his final show in just a couple of weeks ago.
The only thing to look forward to is the past

And so soon after that amazing farewell concert!
I know the expression is a bit of a cliché, but this really does feel like the end of an era.
    RIP Ozzy.

Ozzy Osbourne was such a unique character and I believe that the world of music will be a lot poorer without him. Although he was, as far as I was concerned, a "Marmite" character when it came to his identity and his music, I have always been quite neutral towards him as I neither liked or disliked him - he was always there as a figure from the start of the 1970s onwards. Saying that however, one has to say that his music was a bit more tasteful then his vocabulary!

His participation for the Party in the Park concert on behalf of the late Queen Elizabeth II's Golden Jubilee celebrations in June 2002 helped him to still become a familiar face and name into the start of the 21st century. He managed to give a pre-show interview without profanity and even his wife did the Alternative Christmas Speech on Channel 4 that year - something which I was thankfully loyal to the late Queen for that year as I always was!

I've everything I need to keep me satisfied
There's nothing you can do to make me change my mind
      I'm having so much fun
      My lucky number's one
      Ah! Oh! Ah! Oh!
