The last school I was at up to the age of sixteen we wore our own clothes until it went upmarket to uniforms
    Up-market with Uniforms Twocky?

I thought uniforms existed as a "level-ler" (or schools try to portray it that way) even like in the USA with Dress Codes or a like here a lot of Dross Schools even have Polo and sweater, even if it's a rank uniform!!

What too about wearing Long Sleeved White Polos instead of your School Shirt?

Only the real cool kids did that or dared to or dared to dream of doing it

Our Ties had logos we had to show too and though School had hated and resented us wearing our Ties skinny, they tried to make us show the Logo so we complied by either A) Colouring it ..... nasty but nice and extremely cool or B) when you tuck the big side in don't tuck it into the top 2 buttons (don't get why any button is'nt ok tbh!!??) and tuck it in lower so the logo was showing but you got more of the proper side showing - which then tuck going against the rules and regs of the Uniform to another next level - which the Teachers hated and detested even more Lol

Was the geeks way this - for those at my School who wanted to to their Ties skinny but really could'nt be asked or bothered cos it took minamal effort to make it short - which was always more trendy

Doingt Shirts - that was same as your school ones like Lye and Schott - not those as they was'nt as known "back in the day" but doing Shirts you'd today classify as White Fashion Shirts - not ordinary accepted School ones earned you many a Kudos point/points at my Schools - more so as any tiny Logo on said Shirt drove the Teachers crazy and was immense feeling that not being noticed!

i had to have it tied for me so when i did p.e. I just slid the knot up or down depending on if i was starting p.e or finishing.
of those trousers ive heard of farah's.

Well my Grandad always taught me that that would damage the Tie Darren mate, but fair-do's every Kid and his Dog will have done this

Main reason being if your Tie was stripey and like me I liked to have the knot stripe touching the body under the knot to match - tricky to do .... but gained you immense status!

    PLEASE!
Just stop with these pointless "school uniform/trackies/trainers threads??

Sorry, but you are really starting to irritate. All of these stupid "uniform/tie/trousers/shoes posts could have been put into one thread.

No need to add same comment onto every related thread, and use the search! There's a million and one trainer threads you could have added too
Tbh SixtyTen you sound the kind of Guy who'd grass up the younger years for reverse tying!!!

You put me in mind of Mauler MCcall from Grange Hill as most in most School's ho did "long thin" was one of bullies with "short/medium thin Lads" wannabes/cool lads

Was same at my Junior and Primary's George yeh - so was almost glad we had Uniform at Secondary then

Doing your Tie a certain way, tucking your Shirt in etc - actually helped you (me) find out who the bullies etc was and who was real mates, more so like first day my bestest mate and all others had jumpers on with their Blazer an said to me "why you not got a Jumper on" not as it was mandatory (but this is coming from me - someone from then even to now) alwatys wears a Jumper even if it is 85/89 outside or in indoors even lol

Would only ever do that if the Tie had crest/logo on - which it did'nt and if they said you gotta show it
