Well I grew up during the 1960- 70's, loads and loads of brilliant memories, but certainly not of school dinners!! I have such a loathing and am almost phobic about milk puddings of any sort I cannot even touch a dish that has had some on!!

One of the only decent thing I can remember is the Lemon Meringue Pie always had a crispy Meringue, cannot seem to find it like that anywhere (unless it is home made). As for the prunes, I didn't dislike them, but the highlight was doing the "Tinker, Taylor Soldier Sailor" rhyme with the left over stones!!

(we HAD to eat anything given to us and a typical attitude in general during the 60's and how many others during that era remember still sitting at the dinner table 2 hours after anyone had finished, still struggling to eat their cold congealed peas, cabbage etc..

(Don't tell my mum, but it was my 2lb worth of peas she found behind the fridge when we moved - always managed to throw a few behind the fridge when she left the room for a few minutes!!).
Now I am not sure if I am going to regret asking this but....... what was the ...'Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Sailor rhyme?

    Just opened the semolina....

I LIKE it!! and I'm eating it cold with no jam
But I can see how easy it would be for a dinnerlady to ruin it.like rice pudding
