I love him in his Semi-Autobiography-comedy - whichever way he peels his Apple it don't matter to me, as way before Changing Ends began - the first time I heard his voice I knew I would like him in anything he did
Thinking back to my Schooldays though and some of the lines from Series 1 of Changing Ends that was said to young Alan - that he can be anything he wants/is special is so how I feel bout things, not as anything was said along these lines to me by Teachers, but by Family yeah! There is something magical to this Programme though, that it is something awe-inspiring as well as it has what is like a feel-good factor linked to times gone by and it is harmless without too much swearing.
I just hope it continues at least until young Alan is about 18/20 as the character is so well written and in-particular so well played the lad who plays him. Almost it is like a sedate version of Only Fools and Horses and really really has that "wow-factor". I do hope any-time soon though that Young Alan will start wearing his Tie thin side out very very soon - to blend in with the era!
