    Re: Dramatic events at school

We all piled out into the playground back in 1973 once after the fire alarm went off and were told it was actually a bomb scare! Someone had apparently rung the school as a hoax and we had to stand there for ages while the school was checked over.

When I was at secondary school, one of the pupils in the year above got suspended for throwing a fire extinguisher at a dinner lady...lol

I remember one day when 3 ambulances had to be called to my school, someone slipped on some ice, another fell off a trampoline & someone else cut their hand open while metalworking.

    Dramatic events at school

Did anyone ever have anything really dramatic or alarming happen during their time at school?

The fire bell sounded one day in secondary school and we all filed out thinking it was a drill. Then we looked up at the main block and saw smoke billowing out of a window. It transpired that one boy had deliberately set light to the library store room!

A boy fell from the top of the ropes in PE once, in junor school and an ambulance was called. I seem to remember he wasn't too badly hurt. And around the same time, another boy thumped a teacher after he'd been told off. He was suspended and the event was major news amongst the children for months!
