Moments in History.

This looks like the ideal thread in which to have a quiz on world events during the last three decades of the 20th Century. These events dont have to be earth shattering or century defining. They can be like the pic below.

What is the significance of this foto. Easy one for the Brits to kick off this new thread.

My educated guess would be it's the London Bridge which was sold to the yanks ??

That said .... it doesn't look 'that' impressive so it's prob not

Is it true that they thought they were buying tower bridge? more to the point how would one dismantle something this big and reconstruct it ?

We can only imagine the costs involved of dismantling .. transporting.., reassembling plus all the people who took their own 'cut'

London Bridge is a bridge in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. It was built in the 1830s and formerly spanned the River Thames in London, England. It was dismantled in 1967 and relocated to Arizona.

Indeed it is the Busby babes boarding the ill fated flight to Munich, as a former furniture salesman i was priveleged to serve Nobby stiles and his lovely wife some years ago, he was very engaging and had a great sense of humour....i didn't raise the subject of the munich air crash, that would of been in bad taste i feel.
