    hi there,
i have just joined and a big hello to everyone.
I am 47 and grew up in the UK in the 1970's.
I have very fond memories of that era from Major matt mason and Action man to Letraset action transfers and walls sky ray ice lollies.

    Hi ecofugal and welcome.

I'm also 47 and remember most of the things you mention. Matt Mason passed me by however. At least, he's not immediately familiar.

                Thanks for the welcome
Matt Mason was from the States and i don't like that well known the UK.

by the way one TV program that still haunts me after all these years is The Changes (1974). Remember that?

                    Re: hi everyone

I'm a little older than you... but Major Matt Mason did have a brief impact in the UK, as I recall: certainly a few TV ads

On Letrast I was a real fan of the large Waddingtons "Panorama"s: the early version with lots of little black and white figures.
I would love to re-create a few of those: Wild West, Moon Base, Pirate Island... with re-usable vinyl figures, but that would probably be the end of me doing much else.

For much more on Action transfers, this is the best page I've ever found:
