One thing I learnt long ago is that a leopard cannot change it's spots,just its tactics.I would not even give them the chance of laughing at what they done to me,let alone to my face.What I can say is that they totally destroyed my education,destroyed any chance of getting good exam marks,destroyed any chances of a decent career,and the results of which are still impacting my life today.That does not include the mental health problems which started through this bullying and I still have problems with to this day,and still find it very diffacult being surrounded by people especially in a closed room enviroment.The last people I want to associate with are those that done everything in their power to do all this.They did not give a dam then,and if I am unfortunate to meet up with one of these people in town they still don't give a dam now,they still talk the same talk,still as snide as they were then,and even still talk down to you in a patronising childish way some 30 years after I left that dump,and they always bring up something they done and expect you to laugh along with it.
I doubt if any of them would have the balls to even appologise let alone tell me why it happened,but I can certainly say it would be a good laugh for them over a pint remembering what happened.As I said,a leopard cannot change its spots,just it's tactics.Why give them more fuel to throw on the fire.

I always feel that it was my primary school that made me and the secondary school destroyed me.That secondary school was the worse time of my life,and the people around me then I can't find words to describe.The teachers were just as bad,if not worse as they stood by and let things happen,one even encouraged it.I have been invited to several such get togethers but as I live in the area where I grew up,and still know some of these people I went to school with I can honestly say it would be a big bad mistake.5 years of pure hell,sorry I would rather punch their lamps out before I shake their hands.Some say time is a healer,it can also make people bitter if they have suffered through the experiance.Secondary school only lasts about 5 years but the problems these places can cause can haunt a person for the rest of their lives.Out of interest I have now turned down three such invitations and would only turn up if the school was to be burnt down there and then.

im sorry u had such a horrible time mate.

but i suffered both in secondary school and and at college.

why not just give it a try even for half an hour and if it goes bad then never go to another reunion.

but give it a chance you may end up wondering how things would have went og u had gone.

regarding these people are they still as nasty as they where in school.
if they are then i understand why u would not go to a reunion.

Had a few close friends that I went through college with, and when I saw him a few years ago our lives had gone down such different paths we had nothing to talk about but memories of school...

Yeah I had similar experenice in 2005 when I finaly met up with an old best mate i'd lost touch with and had only seen once 10 years previously! Though we did'nt even talk about School much either sadly!

you say these reunions where good fun but did you keep in contact with any of them are you know friends with them.

And she was your first and only GF.

Been to several, normally good for a laugh
Stopped attending them now I'm old and grey, but ironically, my girlfriend is the girl I fancied at school 31 years ago

Iguess the reason you are not in touch with them is perhaps they where not so nice to you.
But its possible they might hve changed.

As people get older they change into decent people of course not all do but must would id think.

Idid not like school got yrs of physical abuse but im willing to put that behind me and meet some of them when my reunion comes up.

To a degree - I got bullied a bit at primary school and a lot in the 1st year of secondary. Put that behind me after I gave some kid a pasting when my temper finally snapped and no one said anything to me again.
But overall I just didn't like the people there. Had a few close friends that I went through college with, and when I saw him a few years ago our lives had gone down such different paths we had nothing to talk about but memories of school...and to be honest that is all they are - memories.
I try and look forward in my life rather than back..especially with people I never really liked...

There was talk of one a few years ago - but I wouldn't go there because I thought pretty much 90% of the people in my year were t*****s (sure they weren't big fans of mine either) but there is a reason why I am not still in touch with anyone from school. I have had the pleasure of meeting a few people I went to school with over the years, and even the 10 minutes I spent in their company in a pub somewhere was too much for me so no way would I want to spend a whole evening. Needless to say I didn't really enjoy school - didn't hate it but dont have massive fond memories of it at all...
Same with College after school (instead of 6th form)
It wasn't until I got to go away to college that I made really good friends that I am still in touch with to this day.

I was invited to one in 1991 but declined. All we have in common is our Alma Mater. Although I wasn't bullied or anything like that, I have no desire to associate with my erstwhile schoolmates.

The reunion was last Saturday and I didn't go. Ironically while out last Saturday night I bumped into an old school friend I hadn't seen for 15 years so I had a reunion anyway by default

Never have been to one. Never will go. I had an awful time at school and will never forgive the sheep who followed the heards and went along with the **** taking concerning me. I'm not afraid to admit I HATE them to this day. Always will - and that included the pompous teachers who turned a blind eye to my being bullied. I don't see why someone who was given a hard time at school should forgive and forget if they turn up to one of these things and see how the bully has become 'mellow' or 'nice' or 'feels bad' about having bullied you on and off...To tell the truth, that scene at the end of Carrie? Thats what I wish would happen to them all. It was extremely hurtful and I won't want to meet any of them for fear of punching their lights out.
