It's 1989 and here's me with a load of iconic 80's stuff! Observe the brand new Panasonic hi-fi bought a few days earlier for my birthday, the ZX Spectrum+2 with joystick, the Yamaha PSS170 keyboard, the Cabbage Patch Kid, the big skate board, an array of cassette tapes (including Now 13 and 14 on the end there) and my fetching fluorescent pink scrunchie. Good god!

Loving the hi-fi. I had a similar Panasonic system during the '90s.

Fantastic shot! My brother had a cool hi-fi with dual tape "High Speed Dubbing". Basically it meant you could copy tapes at twice the speed

My Ferguson hi-fi had High Speed Dubbing. I got it for christmas in 1983! I loved it!

I think the hi-fi is still in my parent's loft. Everything still works apart from the tape decks which are worn out. I totally loved that hi-fi. My parents would agree that it was the most value for money thing that they ever bought me. I used it almost every day for the next 10 years!

Just noticed that I have my bag of lego there on the shelf. I've still got that Infact there's a few things I still have. I still have the cabbage patch kid stored away, the fan heater is still going strong and the collection of shells behind the keyboard are now in my bathroom!

i think its great that you kept the hi-fi mate.
although the tape decks are worn out im sure you will keep it for good.
as its a part of your childhood.
                  in some ways its priceless.

could the hi-fi also run on batteries which where inserted into the back of the hi-fi.
reason i ask is i had a hi-fi with two tape decks one had a bit of blue on it the other had a bit of red on it.

Also spotted the LifeStyle carrier bag under the shelves full of goodness knows what. Anyone remember that cheapy food brand? Our local grocers was a LifeStyle shop in those days, hence the bag.
