It was set (and filmed in) Nottingham - one of Alan Sillitoe's most famous works, along with Saturday Night, Sunday Morning.

Pity that we never get to see films on Bank Holiday Mondays anymore - ones like Supergirl and Bedknobs and Broomsticks used to feature quite a bit in the 1990s.

Follow a Star often seemed to be on in that 1.30 pm slot on Monday or Friday ITV in the mid-1980s - I know that Thames used to show it a bit.

There have been some good films on the Sky Movie channels in the afternoon - since the start of the year I saw Gentleman Prefer Blondes, Murder She Said, and Carry On Regardless on there.

The Legend Of Hell House - a superior British horror, based on the book Hell House by Richard Matheson (of I Am Legend/The Omega Man fame)

The Fly II, for the first time since it came out! Not a great film - horrendously dated, terrible monster effects - but not bad.

It was notable for me as the love interest is played by Daphne Zuniga (mostly known in the US as a TV actress, was also in the Mel Brooks film, Spaceballs) who is the only remotely famous person born on the exact same day as me!

been watching the Marvel Cinematic Universe in order, with the wife. recently watched Ant-Man followed by Civil War, both are awesome and last night we watched The Greatest Showman again. even though i'm not keen on musicals i love the music in The Greatest Showman.
