I watched the 1983 comedy drama Privates On Parade yesterday for the first time starring John Cleese and Michael Elphick. Seeing as it's all about a song and dance unit that entertains the troops in Malaysia during the late 40's I was expecting something along the lines of It Ain't Half Hot Mum. Although there is some comedy involved, it also has it's share of effective dramatic moments especially during the last third. Denis Quiley is brilliant as the camp leader of the troupe. Well worth taking a look.

That's good to year I've liked all I've seen, I can't decide which one I like best.

I've been collecting anime for a few years, both recent & old.

Fritz The Cat was the first X rated animated film.

The Studio Ghibli films are well worth watching, they are on Film 4 every now & again if you want to check them out.

I have been visiting a lot of animated films. Over the last few weeks I have watched far too many of them. I particularly liked The Secret of NIMH. Who framed Roger Rabbit is a classic. Managed also to watch some of those Disney films in full. It's a new found love of something I loved deeply as a kid resurfaced again.

Got Fritz the cat for later when it's quiet for a laugh. Apparently for some reason it's regarded as a landmark film today and one of the unspoken greats.

Certainly a high profile cast for it.

Evil dead original for me last night.
