The Summer of 1976 only once we had it will it ever happen again in the future I believe it was dry for 5 months and no rain

Steve McQueen's motorcycle in the film "The Great Escape" was a Triumph. The very same one later became Fonzie's motorcycle in the TV show "Happy Days."

1994 & 95 were very hot summers, I remember being on the Isle Of Wight & it was getting so hot one day you could probably have fried an egg on a road.

One of my neighbours is originally from Luton and she was part of the Ted scene back then. And she remembers the George Hotel Ballroom!

My dad was too! But he was in the East End, he used to go to the seaside towns (Brighton, Southend etc) on Bank Holidays in the 60s to "fight the skinny mods" in his own words.

He was also almost run over by the Kray Twins when they were trying to get a mate of his he was with, they didn't get out of their car outside their own turf apparently.

He has some great stories to tell, I wish he'd document them, but the best ones are when my Mum isn't around.
