People in Morrisons today were without trolleys it was heaving,we managed to grab one in time. The veg and fruit were being emptied quickly as well as the party fresh food.Long queues at the checkouts.

As well the cards full of stamps tokens for £25 off xmas shop and the £5 vouchers with the match and more save plus pre order food meant slow process at the tills/
Quite a few had those look about them but no tempers flaring

        Re: Christmas 2014

According to my Dad Xmas Eves are hard days for supermarkets as they can be a mad last minute rush for things, or else a quiet day as it's only people popping in for the odd thing they forgot to buy.

Almost every year my Dad gets sent out to buy something my Mum forgot to get in the main shop.

Keeping stock levels can be hard for just this reason.

It is hard going for staff that fill the shelves, stack up supplies of fruit and veg, also the ones on checkouts the continous bleep of the scanner. That is why I agree shops should not be open on boxing day.

            Re: Christmas 2014

Who still leaves out mince pies & sherry by the fireplace for Santa? Obviously you have to have a fire with a chimney. If your house has central heating then you will miss out on a visit from Santa
Also, who leaves out carrots for Rudolph & his merry reindeer friends? Even a bowl filled with some mulled wine? Apparently reindeer love mulled wine & as there are no patrolling police with breathalysers up there on Santa's flight path........
If you log onto NORAD's website you will see they are tracking Santa & his reindeer from NORAD's Cheyenne Mountain base & can even plot a flight plan knowing which direction Santa is headed. I have heard Santa's sleigh even has a transponder fitted so ATC are able to fully track him & not just on primary radar

Bernard the brown nosed reindeer who is second in line to Rudolph just loves mulled wine & many a time Rudolph has had to pick up the slack when Bernard is too sozzled to do his bit

Do you really believe the other side without provocation would launch so many ICBM's, subs and ships knowing that we would have no option to launch as well? It would break our MAD Treaty (Mutually Assured Destruction) not to mention the end of the world as we know it.

                            Christmas Truce

                            Christmas Truce

"Christmas day during our first hostilities with Germany, the soldiers of opposing sides came out of their trenches at risk of being shot by the other side.

I think it was totally in the spirit of Christmas (goodwill & all that)

After exchanging ciggies & shaking hands & having a little bit of a football match & wishing each other Merry Christmas, the troops returned to their respective trenches

This was a true Christmas miracle"
