        My earliest Olympics memories are from the Munich games in 1972, due to the hideous terrorist acts...
        Time flies like the wind, fruit flies like bananas - go figure!

            The 1984 games are the first I remember, especially as we were on holiday in my Gran's caravan for some of it & had to watch it on a small black & while TV.

              First olympics i saw was 1984.
              But 88 was the first i really watched as in was really watching it.

              Remember the fantastic opening ceremony in 84 with daley thompson winning his 2nd successive decathlon title.

                      I remember it well.
                      And daleys german rival jurgen hingsen having too many false starts in the hurdles which finished his chances.

                              one bad memory ill take from these rio games was the poor attendance which i did expect as its not really something the general brazilian public are into.

                              Ticket prices where too high as well.

                              Tokyo 2020 should be far better attended.


                              But lots of new nations won medals in rio which was a good thing.
