    Yes, my mum and dad kept finances to themselves, my mum had no idea what dad earned, i am one of six children and although we were not well off we never went without, my dad would see to that

    It's the only way to go for a married couple, there should be NO yours and mine, you are on a joint mission once married and finances play a massive part of that

    It's quite refreshing though - not to leave any traces of it in the bowl prior to flushing. No doubt however that this doesn't work when one defecates.

    Speaking of misleading announcements, I used to hear quite a bit of the following a few years ago:

    "For a free leaflet/booklet/whatever, please phone 09064..."

    If that's free, then I am a qualified psychiatrist.

    It's like how Jim Davidson's Generation Game misleadingly used the word "Live" in its opening announcement when introducing Davidson as everyone knows that the shows was recorded a good couple of months before.

    And Nicholas Parsons used to go on about people who used to think that Sale of the Century used to be announced as "Live from Norwich - it's the quiz of the week".
