The strangest coincidence happened yesterday 24th oct, one of my favourite musicians is the great keyboard wizard mr Rick wakeman and his first three albums were
Journey to the centre of the earth
the six wives of Henry V111
king arthurs knights of the round table
Each day i usually look through the tv listings looking for films to record and yesterday without realising the coincidence i recorded three films which were as follows...
Journey to the centre of the earth (film 4)
The six wives of Henry V111 (tcm)
king arthurs knights of the round table (sony movies)

The chances must be pretty slim dont you think? its almost like the broadcasters had confired and decided they would all screen movie versions of Wakeman albums.
    Ejector seat?...your jokin!

    Re: coincidences

    Well ....,,

A few years ago I'd walked home for my dinner and was walking back through the car park across from the office I worked in .... as I walked past my mates car ( it was about a yard to my left ) it started rolling slowly past me heading for the busy main road .... for a moment I presumed he was having a laugh with me and was really slumped down out of sight but he wasn't !!

It has just started to roll by itself !!

Luckily I was able to dart in front of it and gradually slow it down before it went off the car park into the busy traffic !!!!!

    Crazy !!!

      Re: coincidences

I would mention the John F Kennedy - Abraham Lincoln assassinations but there are too many to mention here. However, Bill Clinton's middle name is was Jefferson, and Thomas Jefferson had a Vice President called Clinton.

There was a councillor on Nottingham City Council called Tony (probably Anthony?) Robinson who was given the historical title of Sherriff of Nottingham for one year - meanwhile, the Blackadder actor Tony Robinson played the Sherriff of Nottingham in the CBBC series Maid Marian and Her Merry Men.

The Coronation Street actor Michael le Vell's real name is Michael Turner - as you know, he plays Kevin Webster. He had to change it in order to avoid confusion with another actor called Michael Turner who appeared in the soap back in 1981 as a character who also had the surname of Webster!

Coronation Street has had three different characters that share name namesakes with former Nottingham Forest managers - Billy Walker, Frank Barlow and David Platt! It's a pity that it was Ivy Tilsey and not Ida Clough who had a son called Brian...

There are quite a few coincidences regarding family members and former Chancellors of the Exchequer as well which I won't go into on here.

        Re: coincidences

The 1996 Eurovision Song Contest has so many coincidences with the number 7 - at least seven of them as a matter of fact:

        1) It was the seventh year of the decade that it was hosted on.

        2) The UK got 77 points - two sevens, and eleven times seven. (I originally thought that they ended seventh but it ended up eighth instead).

        3) The UK song (Ooh, Aah, Just a Little Bit) had seven syllables in it.

        5) Gina G performed the UK entry - G is the seventh letter of the alphabet..

        6) Ireland won the contest that year - Ireland's name is seven letters long.

        7) It was Ireland's seventh win.

          Re: coincidences

There was a stage musical in the 1920s-30s that hit a lot of bad luck, with performers falling ill & the theatre it was performed in burnt down.

It turned out to the writer's 13th play (but he claimed it was his 14th!), it featured 13 songs, the band had 13 members, & there were 13 speaking parts in total!

I went to see John Fogerty, the singer from Creedence Clearwater Revival, last night at the O2. My mate and I went to a pub by the Thames beforehand and the first song played over the speakers was Tina Turner's version of Proud Mary, a well-known Creedence song!

It's also amazing how the Radio 2 presenter Ken Bruce has so many coincidences regarding the number 2:

              1) He broadcasts on BBC Radio 2 (obviously).

              2) He was born on the second day of the second month in the second year of the 1950s.

              3) Bruce starts with the second letter of the alphabet.

              4) He is on the air for two (and a half) hours, although for a few years in the 1990s it was for two hours.

That's irony rather than a coincidence.

'Amazing' is rather extreme way describing those points tbh

Is it also any coincidence that 14th November was not only Prince Charles' birthday but the day that Princess Anne got married on for the first time?
