          Petrol
          Lit matches
          (the above two not together)
Petrichor - the smell when it rains after a long dry spell. First time I smelled that was on holiday as a kid.
          Fresh mowed grass.
Welding blankets - reminds me of my dad's van as a kid.

Oddly enough we were struggling to get our bonfire to start a few weeks ago and someone suggested petrol but this bloke said don't use petrol I'll sort it out ...
Ten minutes later him and his son came back with some big tins of gloss paint !!

They poured gallons of paint all over the bonfire and set it on fire .. after a slow start the whole thing was burning wonderfully well ..

Another little petrol based tale ..

I was sorting our shed out and cams across a petrol cab with an inch or so in the bottom ..

I decided to tip it out in the corner of our lawn .. just so it wasn't hanging around in the shed ..

Anyways I decided to set fire to the grass just to see if what would happen ... anyways it burnt non stop for about 25 minutes !!

I remember my Cousin reckoned car exhausts smelt sweetish back when leaded petrol was in regular use.

WD40 has quite a nice smell to it.

              Freshly made doughnuts & popcorn.

              Fried onions.

              Pizza.

When people are selling their house it helps to make some ground coffee or bake bread as the smell is attractive.

              Garlic bread.

              Ikea scented candles.

My favourite smell used to be Ushers brewery until it was brought out and shut down. The worse smell was Bowyers or the slaughter house part of it. The drains smelt terrible. Even now occasionally after all these years that smell sometimes evades the town especially when the soil is disturbed in the area. It's far worse then the sewage works on a bad day.

                  Old books
                  New books
                  Tarmac being boiled
                  Coffee
                  Bread being baked
Old record players starting up (dust on the valves burning)
                  Chocolate
                  Indian food

Time flies like the wind, fruit flies like bananas - go figure!

The smell of the bakery department when you enter a supermarket
The inside of a Tetley tea box - I used to sniff the empty box for that lovely tea smell
                    Cut grass
New booklets and the smell of the print

And the smell of cinnamon reminds me of Christmas - putting the tree up and all that.
I've everything I need to keep me satisfied
There's nothing you can do to make me change my mind
                    I'm having so much fun

                      Rotisserie chicken

                      Sausage meat stuffing

Engine sheds at historic railways, a nice combination of machine oil & burning coal.

Christmas puddings, the smell of them always told be Christmas was on the way when I was young.

Tetra chloride as used in dry cleaning machines in launderettes

So when I got the clothes out I would stick my head in pretending to look for a lost sock if anyone asked lol

Also Tippex - as good as glue for sniffing
                        sigpic
Do you really believe the other side without provocation would launch so many ICBM's, subs and ships knowing that we would have no option to launch as well? It would break our MAD Treaty (Mutually Assured Destruction) not to mention the end of the world as we know it.

Fresh laundry has always been a fave of mine, plus coffee, bread being baked, baked potatoes, and my local takeaway!

I have just had a bath so I am also adding the smell of the bubble bath and deodorant (which I put on prior to getting in) when you get out of the bath - a nicer smell than when one gets in the bath!
