As I said before. visiting the forum itself is better than just getting an email telling us what is new.

That’s a given ... I can only talk from experience... I never stop / relax and I like to frequent quite a few forums ..some forums just get missed or overlooked but when I get an email from them .. firstly it acts as a reminder but then the thread titles kinda entice you back to read what others are saying or just to add my two pence worth .

Zincubus/ response from our Admin.

It's a good idea and would be nice to do but it's not something we can set up at the moment. One of the reasons is that we have to be very careful not to send too many emails through our server otherwise we risk getting flagged as a spam site and blacklisted which has happened to us once before. This then blocks all our emails and those of anyone else using the same server.

No worries ..

Even a monthly email would be worth a consideration..

I can only really log in during my lunch-break at work, Mon-Fri...

Sometimes (not often, but we did last Friday!) we go to the pub so I can't then check this out... :cry:

I don't always check in but I do have a look once a week sometime twice a week.

You can only say so much then start to repeat yourself. Not everything interests me or jogs a memory so I cannot reply to it all the time.

Due to personal reasons I do spend time at home quite a bit with my computer, and so that helps to keep track of any new threads or posts - only when I am on holiday or unwell do I not visit the forum.

I am a member of quite a few forums and tbh this one is one of the more active ones. All forums seem to have taken a hit since the popularisation of social media platforms and people's expectations/misunderstandings regarding the role of forums.
