Re: It's back
I can accept someone watches now and then (I watched some U.S. thing for a bit with Eric Estrada from the old CHiPs police show living with televangelist Tammy Faye Baker and porn actor Ron Jeremy), but a lot of people must watch these 'reality' and celebrity (houses, dna test results, cooking to a deadline, I lump it all together) programs all the time because there are still so many of them on!
"Species behaving in an eccentric way"... a nice description, except between tv and the internet it feels like every eccentric has a show or video and followers! There's even a 'star' of that sort in the U.S. White House now. Not for me, I saw the ads and heard the money-money-money-mooooney theme music, but never watched the Apprentice once... I guess it fooled some into thinking it was real, no other explanation. Then again, I've seen maybe two entire episodes of The Simpsons, I'm very much outside any mainstream.

Re: It's back
I quite like some parts of these ‘reality’ series ... mainly how all the different characters/personalities react / interact with each other .. quite often completely opposite types form great friendships ..
I really don’t like watching Caitlin Jenner on screen though so I’ll fast forward whenever ‘they’re’ on screen .

It made me laugh when Helen Flanagan (Rosie Webster from that Corrie place) said a few years ago that she wanted to leave the series to "move on and do other things". Someone said that I bet that she will be taking part in a jungle somewhere, and they were right - she ended up on there as well.

Re: It's back
I must be getting old myself, as just like Strictly, hardly any of the "celebrity" names are familiar to me - but then again, I don't usually watch MTV and BBC Three-style Reality TV so and so I would be a bit ignorant as to who most of them are.
