So in spite of the "lockdown" British citizens have taken to the streets to vandalise statues which honour figures from our shameful past as a nation who traded in slavery and where racism was and still is prevalent throughout the land, but are the actions of these self appointed moralists justified or do you think they are just criminals and that more democratic steps should have been used to decide whether these monuments should go or stay?

This reminded me of when Isis has looted and demolished the Parthian/Roman city of Dura-Europos in east of Syria, probably because it went against Islamic laws.
It is history. We should not demolish or remove statues but learn from them and better our society.Comment
