    i suppose its nostalgia related.
yeah keeping old machinery video players etc that dont work and clutters the place can be annoying.

Never used one but they do seem like quite the faff. Some people still have them though. A friend of my mother had one until quite recently and only got rid of it because it had started to leak. My mother had to talk her through modern day washing machines and how wonderful they are compared to twin tubs. "What, you mean I can put the washing in and set it going and LEAVE IT? Like, go out somewhere and come back and it's done? Are you sure?" Lol.

People who think it is fair game to speak to me like dirt because I wear a uniform at work.

Several years ago we had something similar called "Cash for Clunkers." All it did was raise the price of used cars as all those "clunkers" were taken off the market.

Americanised English where I come from it's not a bloody Cupcake it's a bun, people who say fink instead of think (sorry cockneys but it grinds), British hip hop fans who think and talk as if they are from the Bronx ie Yo money and yall (which goes back to my first point) and most of all people who do not say please and thank you there's no need for it. There's a lot more but I'll leave it at this for now

I'm with you on the cup cake thing. Whatever happened to fairy cakes? And what was ever wrong with a thin layer of dribbly icing and some hundreds and thousands? I detest these big so called cup cakes with ridiculously huge swirls of icing on top. I find them extremely unappetising to look at.

and while I'm at it, a muffin is a round, flat bread type thing. Not a cake full of blueberries!

But then again, a lot of people - including myself - love autumn, and never moan about it. What I especially hate about the hot weather is the way all these annoying radio DJs go on and on about how "wonderful" the hot weather is. Why the heck don't they just belt up? They don't seem to realise that not everybody is a sun freak like they are.

Another pet hate: people in restaurants who broach disgusting subjects, like hospital operations or bodily functions or insects, when you are trying to enjoy your meal. UGH, horrible!

People who have very private converstions in public or in office corridors, often near some fire doors so you have to squeeze right past them.

Kids in shops and restaurants who scuff their shoes along the floor to make that awful squeaking sound like fingernails on a chalkboard.

Funny but where I am this is the first summer in several years that actually feels like summer. Last year at this time I was still wearing a heavy jacket!
