Brand new cars with those chain led lights on permanent dont like them.I find they dazzle me if someone is behind me as I look in the mirror so I have to adjust the mirror to dark new European laws mean we have to put up with them whether we like it or not!

Well, at least some of them say "Press one for English" before they go on to "Para Español marque dos."

I've never had that from a call centre, but I remember once using a system that spoke all he numbers in an American accent for some reason.

Add "specialists" to all of the above.

The word 'solutions' i.e 'Delivering sustainable logistics solutions, Building solutions, Glazing solutions, Renewable energy solutions, Bathroom tile solutions etc etc. Why? I once saw a van that said 'Seafood Solutions' on it's back door. I never new seafood had problems! Any kind of corporate/marketing jargon tends to boil my blood.

People whose only cultural references are TV shows and characters. A friend of mine was admiring a mahogany bookcase that had been in my family for years and he called it an "Andy Griffith" bookcase. It seems that there was a similar bookcase on the set of that particular TV show. And, of course, I didn't know what he was talking about as I'm not a particularly avid TV watcher. On other occasions this same friend will attribute an expression I frequently use to a character on another one of his favorite TV shows, never mind the fact that I've used that expression for years and I've never seen the TV show in question!

Something that's been niggling me more and more recenty: Government departments referring to me as a "customer."

As far as I'm concerned, if I'm a customer that means I can choose to whom I give my custom. With the DVLA, DWP, local council, and all the other government bodies which are now using this term, I'm forced to deal with them. If I had a choice, I certainly would not give my "custom" to these incompetent and arrogant official bodies.
