I'm with you on the cup cake thing. Whatever happened to fairy cakes? And what was ever wrong with a thin layer of dribbly icing and some hundreds and thousands? I detest these big so called cup cakes with ridiculously huge swirls of icing on top. I find them extremely unappetising to look at.

and while I'm at it, a muffin is a round, flat bread type thing. Not a cake full of blueberries!

Several years ago we had something similar called "Cash for Clunkers." All it did was raise the price of used cars as all those "clunkers" were taken off the market.

Never used one but they do seem like quite the faff. Some people still have them though. A friend of my mother had one until quite recently and only got rid of it because it had started to leak. My mother had to talk her through modern day washing machines and how wonderful they are compared to twin tubs. "What, you mean I can put the washing in and set it going and LEAVE IT? Like, go out somewhere and come back and it's done? Are you sure?" Lol.

    i suppose its nostalgia related.
yeah keeping old machinery video players etc that dont work and clutters the place can be annoying.
