Why does the the wax model attract the two men.

Philip Grayson was played by whom.

Freddie Francis was to direct HTDB why did he not.

    good luck.

    1. John Bryans. He played A.J. Stoker...subtle or what?

    2. It was based on a short story by Robert Bloch, author of Psycho. Think it was published in Weird Tales, though not certain of that.

    3. It bears the likeness of a girl they both were smitten with many years before.

    4. The great Peter Cushing.

    5. I think he was unavailable due to other commitments.

The House that Dripped Blood is a great title, but I don't think the segments quite live up to it. For me, the highlight is Sweets to the Sweet. I think it was an error to end with The Cloak, a rather humourous tale, but since the detective was investigating the disappearance of Paul Henderson, it had to be the last.

Trivia: Carleton Hobbs, who played the doctor in Sweets to the Sweet, was Sherlock Holmes on the radio for many years for the BBC.

    5. It was Barbara Ewing.
    That was a miserable effort.
What can I find to stump the professor?

Cat. Isnt it based on Poes Black Cat?

Pass on name. She played a journalist after a story on John Standing's character.

    Torture Garden

    1. What is the character name of the figure who holds the shears?

    2. Who, at the film's end, grabs the shears and appears to kill Diablo with them? (actor name)

    3. Whose short stories were the segments based on?

    4. In the first segment, what kind of animal plays a big part?

    5. In the segment featuring the piano, of whom does the piano become jealous? (actor or character name)

You my friend are incredible. Just no stumping you. You put me in the shade. I like all of the Amicus anthos. They each have at least one silly segment but make up for it with three good ones. I find with all good cimema that I can watch these anthos over and over and still enjoy them.

Donald, which are your favourite and least favourite of the Amicus anthologies?

My favourites are Dr Terror and Tales from the Crypt...I can't really say I prefer one to the other...both are superb.

My least favourite is The Monster Club. For me, the club scenes get too silly and detract from the stories, which are a real mixed bag.

The director was, indeed, Roy Ward Baker.

The vampire segment was Midnight Mess.

Trivia: None of the segments were taken from the Vault of Horror comic, but rather from other EC comics.

It wasn't Fisher. Hint: He directed 2 other entries in the Amicus anthology series.

Yes, the vampire one. Hint: not quite a midnight mass.

    The others are correct.
