Re: Godzilla
I remember a shop near me that sold all kinds of tat when I was a kid, all kinds of cheap and nasty toys, keyrings, inflatables (kids variety), bangers, cap guns and other assorted junk. They kept all the toys in big, wiccer baskets and this particular basket was brimming with these movie monster-type creatures. The tags on them were japanese but I could just about make out 'Godzilla' on them, the ones I picked out must have been two of Zilla's enemies, didn't have a clue who they were but they looked cool enough.

Re: Godzilla
The American movie wasn't fantastic but it was decent, agree about the effects looking a bit past it now though. Love the soundtrack too!
Anybody remember BBC2 doing a monster-themed saturday night around 1998ish? I'm sure they had Jonathan Ross hosting it and they had one of the Japanese Godzilla movies to round the night off with.

Re: Godzilla
Godzilla toys were real cool back when I was a kid.I had a small hard plastic Godzilla with movable arms and legs I think I also had Rodan as well.I had this thing for dinosaurs as a kid and Godzilla hit all the right buttons especially the fight scenes in the films.Well why else watch a godzilla film if it was not for the fight scenes.Always over the top with man in rubber suit going stomp roar stomp.I suppose to watch the films now you still have to be a big kid at heart as they can be a bit silly in places, but boy are they fun.My favourite film these days is the uncut Japanese version of the first film released in 1954.I have been eyeing up a nice box collection of Godzilla films over the last few months which keeps calling out BUY ME.
I often wondered what happened to my old Godzilla toys?
