    American soul-singer / songwriter, born in 1964, started her career in the music industry as co-founder to 'Lone Justice'. After the failure of two album releases, Maria went solo recording her self titled debut album in 1989, her second album 'You Gotta Sin to Get Saved' was released in 1993 which acheived huge commercial success. She later went on to release a third album a few years later. Maria has worked with the likes of Feargal Sharkey, who she wrote the hit single for, released in 1995 'A Good Heart' and later recorded it for herself. One of her singles 'Show Me Heaven' appeared on the soundtrack to the film 'Days of Thunder' and she also contributed to the song 'If Love is a Red Dress ' on the soundtrack to 'Pulp Fiction'.

      Have her first 2 albumbs. They are really good. 'You Gotta Sin To Get Saved' is fantastic. Well worth a listen.
      Heaven knows I'm miserable now.

        I really like Show Me Heaven, in the late 1990's my friend's then girlfriend as a pub singer who often included it in her set.
