  • Spa Drink/Seltzer

This was a drink marketed in the late 80's early 90's and sold in a clear plastic can that took the same shape as a regular 330ml coke can.It was great being able to see the clear liquid inside the can, but the drink was flavored fizzy water that was too sweet, and not that nice. It disappeared pretty quickly and hasn't been seen since!A good example of great design over poor product!

Aye, Tab Clear. Wicked packaging, possibly cheaper to paint an alu can hence the design not being reused. The drink is still available in the US. For a time it was my drink of choice as it sold at 20p (for other drinks i've slurped to save money see also: Cherry 7up and Pepsi-cino, the coffee flavoured Pepsi).

Quattro is the one I still miss, twenty odd years on. I randomly found a can in the mid 90s in a shop and drunk it, absolutely gorgeous if a little metallic.

I can remember these fruit drinks. They were in a transparent can like Tab clear but the name Spa doesn't ring a bell either. For some reason I have something like Spritz in my head, could be wrong.

No. I don't think this was called spa at all! It actually sounds like 'seltzer'.

Yeah, Seltzer that's it. I knew it was something along those lines.

That's the Seltzer drink I remember. Didn't taste very nice. There were about 4 flavours if I remember right. None of them impressed me that much!

                  Re: Spa Drink/Seltzer

I never tried one but I remember them on sale.

It reminds me of when I first came across flavoured water. In '93 I used to go to an aerobics class with a couple of friends and one time one of them brought in a small bottle of peach flavoured fizzy water. IIRC it was from Marks and Spencers. We all had a taste and thought it was amazing and after that we took some along every week. For some reason it seemed quite revolutionary at the time as I'd only ever encountered pop or Perrier water (yuk), not this strange hybrid.

Sorry to bump and previous thread - but does anyone have a picture of Tab Clear in the clear can - I've looked high and low and can't find one!

                    Thanks in advance
