  • I, Claudius

I, Claudius was probably the finest drama series ever put on TV. It was more of a play performed before TV cameras than an actual TV series. It covered the rule of Roman emperors Augustus (Brian Blessed's finest hour), Tiberius (George Baker), Caligula (John Hurt) and finally Claudius (Derek Jacobi). There were many famous faces in it, even Christopher Biggins as Nero! It's been available on DVD for some time and is well worth the price.

This has got to be the most brilliant drama series ever!
The actors were superb and it was unforgettable.
Apart from the ones already mentioned there was Sian Phillips, Sheila White and even Patrick Stewart that impressed me.

I've been watching this on DVD recently. It's so good. It's easy to see why it's held so high in regard.

I got this for my birthday a couple of years ago & really enjoyed it.

A great show to play "been in Dr Who" with some TV buff friends.
