    Cartoons are very international aren't they? you can watch them as a child and think they are as English as Mustard, and then find out they were all orginally Mongolian.Well, Vicky the Viking, that (at one point) followed the wonderful Smurfs on saturday Morning was one such cartoon. It was great craic at the time - and I thought it was English - telling us all about our viking ancestors. Well, no, it wasn't.Vicky the Viking, was known as Wickie und die starken Männer in Germany and Austria and Chīsana Viking Bikke (小さなバイキング ビッケ?) in Japan, is an Austrian-German-Japanese cartoon series! So there.Basically, it told of the adventures of Vicky, a young Viking boy who uses his wits to help his Viking fellows. He was the son of the chief of the village and he was great because he would always use his wit and intelligence to get one over on the bullies.In the film (yes, there was a film!) he builds a make-shift catapult to beat his father in a stone ferrying contest. Ah, we all remember that first time we beat our father's at a stone ferrying contest. The memories....

      I remember me & my brother being miffed that Granada took off Star Fleet to show this, but we soon began to like it.

      For years I could remember that "rubbing nose while thinking" bit from the title sequence.
