Eccentric Australian foursome who toured England in 1983 with a concept project called 'Mole Show', which was an allegory about capitalist exploitation. They used to dress in tuxedo's and wear massive papier-mache eyeballs over their heads. I think they started out as a punk band in the late '70s.

Residents fan since 1980 here, after I bought the Commercial Album, though had seen them earlier doing "Third Reich 'n Roll" on OGWT
U.S, not Australian, famously from Louisiana/San Francisco.
Never been a punk group, as they started out in about 1972!
Fibreglass eyeball heads too...

lost it for a while, but a few good albums over the years.
Oddly enough, the Residents Freak Show was the very first CD-Rom I ever purchased back in 1995
